Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts, with scheduling determined by operational needs
• Assignment includes at least every other holiday
• Patient population includes Med/Surg cases requiring telemetry monitoring
• Use of telemetry equipment and EMR systems is required
• Responsibilities include providing comprehensive care to Med/Surg telemetry patients
• Required to work at least every other holiday as part of the rotation
• Orientation includes completion of ECG rhythm and medication safety tests, with two attempts permitted
• Permanent or per diem candidates cannot return to work at the same health system for at least 1 year after previous end date
• Exemption from nicotine-free requirements currently applies to nurse travelers
• Candidate must pick up badge and complete onsite fingerprinting before start date
• First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active permanent OH or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required prior to travel assignments
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments must be passed during orientation
• Background check and fingerprinting must be completed before starting
