Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III or higher NICU night shift position in Illinois requiring EPIC and Trauma 1 experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a Level III or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a hospital setting
Primary patient population includes critically ill neonates
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
Use EPIC electronic medical record system; prior EPIC experience is required
No local candidates allowed within a 50-mile radius of the facility
Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and document care for neonatal patients
Monitor intake and output of assigned neonates and assist with breastfeeding and baby-friendly care
Administer medications using bar code scanning protocol
Report on patients during multidisciplinary rounds
Team-oriented work environment with regular communication and peer collaboration
No travel partners accepted for this assignment
Time off not to exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
Contingent workers may not work more than 1 year continuously and must take a 6-month break before returning

Requirements

Current Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
Minimum 3-5 years of NICU nursing experience in Level III or higher units
Trauma 1 experience required
Current BLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association
Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in EPIC charting
