Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring IL RN licensure, Level 3 NICU and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Level 3 NICU with a trauma designation
• Provide care for critically ill neonates and support mothers with baby friendly care and breastfeeding initiation
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Uses EPIC electronic medical record system; prior experience required
• Responsible for initial patient assessments, developing and evaluating individualized plans of care, and performing essential neonatal care procedures
• Assist with medication administration, documentation, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds
• Monitor neonatal patient intake and output
• Engage in professional development, team communication, and contribute to a collaborative work environment
• Adheres to a maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
• Past contingent employees may not return within 6 months of completing a 1-year assignment at this facility
• Scrub or dress code guidelines will be provided upon hire
• Travelers are required to report to a designated lab for testing within 24 hours of assignment commitment
• No travel partner arrangements accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted
• Minimum 2-3 years of NICU experience in Level 3 or higher, and Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association required
• EPIC charting system experience is mandatory
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
