Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position with pre-op experience required and a Texas or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the PACU, primarily covering pre-op responsibilities
• Setting is a hospital environment
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week and varied start times, as early as 5 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Uses Altera charting system; experience preferred but not required
• Primary responsibility is pre-op patient care in the PACU
• Orientation modules must be completed during onboarding
• Clinical modules require 6-8 hours and are included in orientation
• RTO must be discussed and approved prior to assignment
• Travelers within a 150-mile radius are not accepted
• Positive drug screen, including from substances such as CBD, will result in cancellation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the PACU or related pre-op service line
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• No first-time travelers considered
• Must provide verification of current certifications
• Two supervisor references from the last 3 years required
• Return travelers must not have been employed as permanent staff in the past year
• Must be able to complete required lab items within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana
