Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU Stepdown position with night shifts and level I ICU/cardiac stepdown experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric ICU Stepdown unit of a hospital
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Care for pediatric patients with acuity ranging from simple to complex in an intensive/stepdown setting
• Requires level I experience in ICU or cardiac stepdown
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric patients, including documenting responses to interventions and treatments
• Assist physicians with exams, minor procedures, and treatments
• Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans and procedures with patients and families
• Delegate tasks as appropriate to support staff
• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs
• Position may only be extended once up to a total of 26 weeks, with a required six-month separation before eligibility to return

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a Compact State (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum one year of experience in ICU or cardiac stepdown required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN or higher preferred
• Some computer skills required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
