Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Adult Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults with a variety of simple to complex health problems
• 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week
• 36 hours per week contract assignment
• Responsible for providing and documenting nursing care for a group of adult patients in the emergency department
• Assists physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers medications, manages IV infusions and blood products, and monitors patient response to treatment
• Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff as necessary
• 50 mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Minimum of one year RN experience in an emergency care setting required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and language needs
