Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring an active OK or compact RN license and ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Adult Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Patient population includes adults with a variety of simple to complex health problems
- 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week
- 36 hours per week contract assignment
- Responsible for providing and documenting nursing care for a group of adult patients in the emergency department
- Assists physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administers medications, manages IV infusions and blood products, and monitors patient response to treatment
- Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff as necessary
- 50 mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Minimum of one year RN experience in an emergency care setting required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and language needs
