Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Provide bedside medical, surgical, and cardiac care
• Night shifts are 12 hours, three days per week from 18:45 to 07:15
• Expected patient ratio is 1:4-5
• Must work every other weekend
• May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations and within facility units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR for charting; Epic experience required
• Facility holds Magnet designation
• Direct patient care for medical, surgical, and cardiac telemetry patients
• Navy scrubs required
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted during 13-week contract; no RTO allowed during first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Travelers may remain up to 18 months with a mandatory 3-month break after 18 months
• No cost for onsite parking

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Returning employees must wait 1 year after permanent employment before being eligible as a traveler
