Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring strong MS/Tele or IMC experience and flexibility to float between units.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital setting with a Level II Trauma Center
- Position is part of the float pool covering MS/Tele, Stepdown, IMC units, and may include floating to a sister facility
- Adult inpatient population with patient ratios of 1:4-6 for RNs
- 12-hour night shifts (19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is mandatory
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Will float to support all adult inpatient care units as needed
- Team supports various units, including ICU, Emergency Department, and inpatient rehab
- Peripheral line care/management and rapid response activation are part of daily duties
- Strict RTO policy; time off requests over 2 weeks require approval
- No minimum distance radius; local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Return staff policy requires a 6-month break before returning as a traveler
- Free parking provided on site
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in MS/Tele/PCU within the past 3 years
- Strong telemetry or IMC experience required
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone) required
- Experience with non-invasive airway management and O2 protocols
- Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE use
- Epic charting experience required
- COVID vaccination required with no exemptions
- No first-time travelers accepted
