Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical/Surgical Cardiovascular Unit position requiring a KS or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 38-bed medical/surgical cardiovascular unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adult cardiovascular and medical/surgical patients
• Telemetry monitoring with remote monitoring technology is utilized
• RNs start IVs; lab collects blood specimens; IV team available for additional support
• Uses Cerner OneChart for electronic medical records
• Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirement
• Ceil blue scrubs are required
• Teaching hospital environment
• RNs are responsible for starting IVs and providing comprehensive care on a cardiovascular unit
• Support available from an IV team for more complex procedures
• All travelers must comply with facility radius rule; local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required as of July 1, 2023
• Must provide two professional references and copy of Driver’s License for consideration
• Only one assignment allowed at a time across the health system
• Extension discussions should begin at least 45 days prior to contract end date

Requirements

• Active KS or compact state RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical/surgical experience
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Nursys license verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Ability to provide a US Social Security Number and US home address
