Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least one year of OR experience and a TX or compact state RN license.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Handles surgical cases including General, Ortho, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Neuro, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Podiatry, Transplant, and Gyn; Vascular, Thoracic, Bariatrics, and ENT experience preferred
• Day shift, four 10-hour shifts (7:00–17:30)
• Rotating call days are required
• Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC EMR
• Scrub attire is provided
• Responsible for circulating and scrubbing for a wide range of surgical procedures
• Strong organizational, customer service, and follow-through skills expected
• No travel pairs or groups will be considered
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved; no time off is approved during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active TX or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room RN experience
• Circulating and scrubbing experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC preferred
• Fluency in English required for job performance
• Former permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
