Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring MI licensure and the ability to manage both ICU and Med Surg patient ratios.
Responsibilities
- Float between critical care and med-surg units within a hospital setting
- Assigned to both ICU (2-3:1 ratio) and Med Surg (4-6:1 ratio) patients as needed
- Night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Must float to various med-surg and critical care units depending on staffing demands
- Orientation required during the first two weeks of assignment
- Only one holiday request allowed during assignment, covering either the holiday itself or the day before/after, but not both
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Opportunities available to pick up additional shifts if desired
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Must be comfortable with both MS and ICU patient ratios
- Must complete both Med Surg and Critical Care/ICU skills checklists for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome
