Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring MI licensure and the ability to manage both ICU and Med Surg patient ratios.

Responsibilities

• Float between critical care and med-surg units within a hospital setting
• Assigned to both ICU (2-3:1 ratio) and Med Surg (4-6:1 ratio) patients as needed
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must float to various med-surg and critical care units depending on staffing demands
• Orientation required during the first two weeks of assignment
• Only one holiday request allowed during assignment, covering either the holiday itself or the day before/after, but not both
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Opportunities available to pick up additional shifts if desired

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Must be comfortable with both MS and ICU patient ratios
• Must complete both Med Surg and Critical Care/ICU skills checklists for consideration
• First-time travelers are welcome
