Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring IL RN licensure, Epic charting experience, and Level 1 trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Night shifts from 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Cares for advanced care and ICU lite patients with support from the critical care team and hospitalists
• Uses Epic EMR system and Epic charting experience is required
• No floating details provided
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care according to unit standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care, including advanced care and ICU support
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to team communication through bedside shift reports and rounding
• Provide constructive feedback to team members and pursue ongoing professional development
• Personal RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days within a 13-week contract
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position
• Contingent workers may not have assignments exceeding one year; a six-month break is required before returning

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses accepted
• Minimum of one year of relevant Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Documented experience with Epic charting and Level 1 trauma
• Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility location; locals not considered
