Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Labor and Delivery position in California, requiring a CA license and experience with Epic charting.

Responsibilities

Work in a Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting
Patient ratio is 1:2 in the Labor and Delivery unit
Day shifts are 12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30, with weekend work required
Floating is required between like units and to affiliate hospitals as needed
Epic charting system is used, and experience with Epic is required
Scrub attire for L&D is provided by the facility
Free parking available on site
Willingness to float to sister facilities within the region is required
Travelers may be terminated or lose guaranteed hours if they refuse floating assignments
Must be willing to work at least 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of application; excessive RTO may hinder consideration
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Solid royal blue scrubs required for RNs, with facility-provided attire for L&D
Online modules must be completed prior to start and annually
Supportive team environment with communication devices provided if needed

Requirements

Active, valid CA RN license required at the time of consideration
At least 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
Minimum of 2 recent supervisory references from the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting
Experience with Epic EMR required
Applicants must comply with a 50-mile local radius rule
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
Pending CA licenses are not accepted
