Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a weekday role requiring Epic charting proficiency and Level 1 trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a sonography department providing both routine and complex ultrasound imaging
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 26-week contract with 40 hours per week
- Role involves reviewing patient history, selecting proper sonography protocols, and using PACS and other digital systems
- Uses Epic EMR, and experience with Epic is required
- Setting requires care for patients in a Level 1 trauma environment
- Perform, acquire, and process high-quality sonography images according to department protocols and accrediting body guidelines
- Transfer and verify images using PACS and provide necessary history for radiologist review
- Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, reporting malfunctions as needed
- Assist in training students and new staff and may act as lead or imaging coordinator in their absence
- May be required to cover other imaging modalities if qualified
- Meets department productivity benchmarks and assists other areas during downtimes
- Environment requires ensuring all safety and reporting procedures are followed
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Position does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
- Continuous assignment at the facility for over 1 year is not allowed—must convert or break for 6 months before returning
- No travel partners accepted
Requirements
- Associate's degree or certificate of completion in sonography required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in ultrasound/sonography
- Current BLS certification required
- Must hold at least one of the following: ARDMS or ARRT breast registry (BS), Sonography (S), RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, RDMS-OB/GYN, RDMS-PS, RVT-VT, or RVS
- Proficiency in Epic charting required
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma setting required
- License required if applicable
