Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a TN or compact license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients including triage assessments and high-risk procedures
• Special procedures include triage assessments, inductions, cesareans, external versions, NSTs, circumcisions, newborn resuscitation and stabilization, and magnesium sulfate administration
• Floating to other units required according to skill set and demonstrated competencies
• Must cover weekends and take call shifts as assigned
• EPIC EMR is used and one year of experience is required
• Will provide advanced nursing care including patient triage, high-risk interventions, and newborn stabilization
• Required to float only to units matching skill set and competency
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Weekend and call coverage is part of the role
• Two professional references are required for consideration

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license in hand
• A minimum of 2 years labor & delivery RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
• At least 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a labor & delivery unit required
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
