Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current IL license and Level 1 trauma experience for a hospital OR setting with call and mandatory float requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the hospital Operating Room
• Day shifts are scheduled as 5x8s, 6:30am to 3:00pm
• One 12-hour weekend call shift per month required, no weekday call
• Every other weekend work is required
• Mandatory float to other units or facilities within 50 miles as needed
• Patient cases include Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
• Exposure to Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Responsible for scrub and circulate duties in a busy OR with diverse surgical specialties
• Team-based model used if floated outside primary competency
• Strict compliance with documentation and lab work deadlines is required
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required; boosters not required
• RTO limited to 5 days total, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends or holidays
• Navy blue scrubs provided
• No block schedules, special scheduling requests are not permitted
• Travelers may receive short notice to float to other facilities
• First-time travelers accepted

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Strong scrub and circulate skills necessary
• BLS certification required
• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required
• Neurosurgery (crani/spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology experience preferred
• Candidates must live within a 75-mile radius to be considered as local
• Pending license not accepted
