Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Oncology position requiring an active MD or compact RN license and strong oncology and telemetry background.
Responsibilities
- Work in an adult medical oncology unit with both medical and non-surgical oncology and telemetry patients
- Patient population includes adult oncology, bone marrow transplant, acute care, and telemetry
- Cases include bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, and both hematologic and solid tumor malignancies
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Unit utilizes Alaris pumps and EPIC EMR, with experience preferred
- Chemo is administered on the unit, but agency RNs are not required to administer chemotherapy
- Responsibilities include providing nursing care to oncology and bone marrow transplant patients with complex needs
- Orientation dates are available prior to start
- Night shift position only
- No requirement for agency RNs to administer chemotherapy
- First-time travelers may not be preferred due to strong candidate expectations
- Local candidates are accepted unless radius rules apply
Requirements
- Active MD or compact state RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in oncology and telemetry settings
- At least 1-2 prior travel assignments preferred
- Experience in a facility with a bed count of 500 or more required
- Oncology nursing background required
- Telemetry experience required
- Chemo certification preferred but not required
- EPIC and Alaris pump experience preferred
