Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring IL RN licensure, Level 1 trauma experience, and proficiency with EPIC charting.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in an Emergency Department setting within a hospital
• Care is provided to Level 1 trauma patients with varied acute and emergent conditions
• Day shift schedule is 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM with three 12-hour shifts per week
• All travelers are required to complete a 2-week night rotation during the contract
• Two 13-hour call shifts are required per 6-week schedule period, with onsite arrival within one hour if called in
• EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
• Responsible for conducting initial assessments, developing and implementing plans of care, and modifying care plans as needed for ED patients
• Duties include maintaining accurate documentation, communicating effectively with team members, and ensuring patient and staff safety
• Professional conduct includes providing feedback to peers for professional development and resolving unit issues as they arise
• Maximum RTO (requested time off) is 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates may not work more than 1 year continuously and must take a 6-month break before returning
• Holiday coverage may be required
• Travel partners are not permitted for this assignment
• Compliance with background check and drug screening processes is required before starting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year recent emergency nursing experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Experience with EPIC charting required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
