Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring prior CVICU experience in a Level 1 setting and current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric cardiovascular ICU within a hospital environment
• Care for pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Assignment is 13 weeks in duration
• CVICU experience in a Level 1 trauma setting is required
• No local candidates permitted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsibilities include organizing and coordinating care for a group of pediatric patients with cardiac needs
• Duties involve medication administration, IV and blood product regulation, and assisting with minor diagnostic procedures
• Supports family education and communicates plans of care to patients and families
• Assists physicians and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Documentation of all care provided and changes in physician orders is required
• Returning travelers may extend only once for a maximum of 26 weeks before a six-month separation is needed for re-eligibility

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of recent CVICU experience in a Level 1 setting
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Some computer skills are needed
