Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an adult Emergency Department night shift position requiring NY licensure and strong emergency care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an adult Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Night shift position, 7pm to 7am, four 12-hour shifts per week
• Serves adult and geriatric patients presenting with a variety of emergency diagnoses
• Unit ratio is 1:5 with exposure to stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and ortho trauma cases
• Uses specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday as needed
• Floating within skillset may be required
• Must be able to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and handle trauma cases including gunshot wounds and spinal cord injuries
• Responsible for safe emergency patient care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
• Scrub attire is any combination of navy blue and white
• Candidates within a 75-mile radius of the facility are not eligible

Requirements

• Active NY single state RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year recent ED nursing experience required
• Demonstrated competency with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, cardiac monitoring, and emergency care for both adult and pediatric populations
