Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, and recent high-acuity and telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Role is based in a CVICU within a hospital setting
• Cares for cardiovascular ICU patients with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Assignment includes 3x12 hour shifts, with a 50/50 day and night split over a 6-week period
• Weekend shifts are part of the rotation and holiday coverage is expected
• Floating will be required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Unit is located within a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital
• Flu vaccination is required for employment
• No on-call responsibilities for this assignment
• Parking is available directly on campus
• Local candidates within 60 miles are eligible
• Holiday and weekend schedule participation is required

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required prior to start date; pending licensure accepted during application
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in telemetry, ventilator management, and high-acuity settings required
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment preferred; first-time travelers will be screened
• Pulmonary artery line experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma and post-operative care experience preferred
