Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, and recent high-acuity and telemetry experience.
Responsibilities
- Role is based in a CVICU within a hospital setting
- Cares for cardiovascular ICU patients with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Assignment includes 3x12 hour shifts, with a 50/50 day and night split over a 6-week period
- Weekend shifts are part of the rotation and holiday coverage is expected
- Floating will be required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Unit is located within a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital
- Flu vaccination is required for employment
- No on-call responsibilities for this assignment
- Parking is available directly on campus
- Local candidates within 60 miles are eligible
- Holiday and weekend schedule participation is required
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required prior to start date; pending licensure accepted during application
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in telemetry, ventilator management, and high-acuity settings required
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment preferred; first-time travelers will be screened
- Pulmonary artery line experience preferred
- Level 1 trauma and post-operative care experience preferred
