Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a compact RN license and pediatric critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in a hospital setting
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
• 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week
• Assignment length of 13 weeks
• Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients and documenting responses to interventions
• Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
• Administer medications and intravenous infusions as prescribed
• Interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and discharge information
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff
• Positive working relationships and strong communication skills are essential
• May only extend once for a total of 26 weeks before requiring a 6-month separation for rehire eligibility

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Some computer skills necessary
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
