Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN with a MO or compact RN license and Epic charting experience for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a telemetry unit within a short term acute care setting
• Serves adult and geriatric patients including total joint replacement, neuro spine, general surgery, wounds, diabetes, medical COVID, and oral surgery cases
• Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 with an average daily census of 16
• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Every third weekend required
• Must be willing to float between two hospital sites as needed
• Uses Epic electronic medical record system
• Scrub color is light gray or silver
• Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessments for a diverse adult and geriatric population
• Initial orientation may include some sessions outside normal shift times
• Free parking is provided in the parking lot
• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
• 18-month maximum stay as a traveler, followed by a required 3-month break
• Modules and onboarding tasks may be completed and paid during pre-start orientation

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years telemetry nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must have prior tele experience
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Cannot be a local candidate; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
