Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with Level 1 trauma and Epic experience for a rotating 12-hour shift position.
Responsibilities
- Emergency Department in a large Level 1 trauma teaching hospital setting
- Care for diverse emergency patient populations
- Requires rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
- Work every other weekend and flexibility with scheduling are required
- Must work at least two of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day
- Uses Epic EMR; recent (within last 2 years) Epic experience required
- Responsible for providing acute emergency care to a varied patient population
- No block scheduling permitted
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions held on Mondays
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation
- Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April
- Holiday coverage required per unit needs
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Experience in large (500+ bed), Level 1 trauma, academic teaching facility required
- Prior travel experience preferred, but may be waived for candidates with appropriate Level 1 trauma and multiple ER backgrounds
- Demonstrated Epic experience within the last 2 years required
- Preferred certifications include CEN, ENPC, and de-escalation training such as MOAB or ProAct
