Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with large Level 1 trauma and EPIC experience for a rotating day/evening shift assignment.

Responsibilities

Position is in the hospital Operating Room (OR) setting
Rotating schedule with day and evening shifts, typically three days plus one off shift per week
Off shifts include 0845-1915, 1045-2115, or 1245-2315
One weekday call per week and one 24-hour call every four-week schedule block are required
Must be flexible with scheduling to meet unit needs and patient care demands
Travelers are required to work 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
Responsible for providing perioperative nursing care, circulating and scrubbing for a wide range of surgical specialties
No block scheduling permitted under any circumstances
All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained for consideration
Holiday coverage is required as assigned
Vehicles should be equipped with all season or snow tires from November through April

Requirements

Active VT or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
Previous travel experience required
Experience working in a large (500+ beds) Level 1 trauma facility required
EPIC EMR experience within the last 2 years is required
Ability to circulate and scrub in all specialties except CVOR cases
Must be able to scrub general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, laparoscopic, trauma, thoracic, and vascular cases
Reliable personal or rental vehicle required due to lack of public transportation and potential snow/ice conditions during November–April
