Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for an ICU position providing advanced cardiovascular care on night shifts in Michigan, requiring a current MI license and strong EKG skills.

Responsibilities

Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVU) of a hospital
Care for cardiology patients including post-PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers, open heart surgery, congestive heart failure, and electrophysiology cases
Unit cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually and approximately 300 open heart surgery patients
Research studies occur in collaboration with the NISUS research department
12-hour night shifts
Required to work every other weekend
Possible on-call requirement
Floating to similar units is required
Provide high-acuity care to a diverse cardiac and post-surgical patient population
Strict attendance policy: more than three late arrivals or absences leads to immediate termination, with exceptions for certain medical circumstances
Team collaborates closely with leadership, medical staff, and research teams
Unit has been recognized with national awards for clinical excellence
No more than five days of requested time off allowed during contract

Requirements

Active Michigan RN license required at the time of consideration
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
Minimum of 1 year ICU experience not including time spent floating
Comfort with EKG is required
Experience with vents, CRRT, and balloon pumps preferred
Experience in neuro, CVICU, or trauma ICU preferred
Skills checklist for RN specialty completed within one year is required
Former full-time McLaren employees must wait six months after employment to be eligible
