Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT certification for an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute cardiac cath lab with 2 dedicated cath labs, 2 bays, and 5 procedure rooms
• Adult patient population with procedures including PCI, Impella, Shockwave, IVUS, peripheral interventions, and device implants
• Typical team includes 2 RNs and 1 technologist
• Average daily caseload is 4-5 cases, ranging from 2 to 9 cases per day
• Utilizes Epic (EpicCare Inpatient) EMR and Xper Dynamics system
• Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 4x10 hour shifts from 0700 to 1730
• Requires 10-11 call shifts per month with weekend and holiday coverage by call
• Technologists may be floated to Non-Invasive CV for IV starts as needed
• Scrubs are provided (burgundy for technologists)
• Experience with Acist injector is preferred but not required, training will be provided if necessary
• Duties include scrubbing and monitoring during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and covering hybrid OR cases
• Role does not involve EP/ablations; primary focus is cardiac and peripheral interventions and devices for adults
• Two shifts of orientation with a preceptor followed by a buddy call for additional support
• Call requirement is typically 15 days per month but may decrease as permanent staff is added
• No local travelers accepted; must not have worked at any WVU Medicine location in the past 2 years
• Returning travelers or former permanent employees must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• Vents managed by RT and pharmacy support is available 24/7
• First-time travelers are eligible to apply

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent cath lab experience
• Current ARRT (R), BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and West Virginia state radiology license required
• Must have experience with IABP and IVUS; experience with Acist injector is a plus
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious exemption is obtained
• License required if applicable
