Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in a Level I Trauma setting requiring at least 2 years of experience and a current AZ or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is within an acute care hospital Interventional Radiology (IR) department
- Patient population includes both inpatient and outpatient critical care cases
- Unit features 5 angiography rooms, 2 CT scanners, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine
- Typical cases include body IR procedures such as chemoembolization, Y-90, GJ, IVC filters, vascular access, angiograms, CT and US biopsies, ablations, thoras, and paras
- Work schedule consists of 4x10 hour day shifts (either 0700-1730 or 0730-1800) Monday through Friday, with an average of 4-5 on-call shifts per month
- Occasional Saturday shifts (1-2 per month) and possible holiday coverage required
- Cerner is used for documentation; prior Cerner experience is preferred
- Care setting is a Level I Trauma center
- Role involves pre-op and recovery for patients receiving conscious sedation and general anesthesia
- RNs are not required to work in neuro endovascular; focus is body IR procedures
- Team includes charge nurse, IR techs, CT, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound techs, with VAT and SWAT IV support
- Telemetry and ventilator support are present on unit
- In-house support from hospitalists, intensivists, RT, and pharmacy 24/7
- Two-shift department-specific orientation is provided
- Scrubs are supplied
- Candidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year
- First-day pass/fail test on sterile technique for Foley insertion and central line dressing changes is required
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with Level I Trauma experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required and must be active
- Pre-op/PACU or ICU experience required; ICU RNs with IR experience will be considered
- References required: one supervisor from last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from last 3 years (must include employment dates and rehire eligibility)
- Copy of driver's license required
- Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia (basic or advanced) and sterile technique tests
- Nursys license verification required
