Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech) with at least 3 years of experience, BLS (AHA), and RDCS or RCS certification for an acute care, Level I trauma environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
• Unit specializes in echocardiography with 5 outpatient clinic rooms and 500 beds across campuses
• Perform transthoracic, stress, and assist with transesophageal echocardiograms
• Utilize Philips Epiqs, Affinity, IE33, GE E95, and Vivid E9 ultrasound machines
• Use Epiq Cupid reporting system and Sectra Cardiology PACS
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts with start times between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM
• Call required one weekend per month with another team member, and one weekday per week
• Rotate between two campuses without switching in the same day
• Work alone after hours if called in
• Duties include performing and assisting with a variety of echocardiogram studies for both inpatients and outpatients
• Initial orientation in clinic followed by hospital-specific training, typically completed within two weeks
• Team structure includes coverage for call alongside another staff member
• Staff may rotate between two campuses as assigned
• Candidates who previously worked for this healthcare system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Gray scrubs required
• Clinicians must badge in and out each shift
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a pay adjustment

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of echocardiography/sonography experience
• Graduate of an accredited sonography program
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• RDCS or RCS certification required
• NDMIRT license required or willingness to obtain if not already held
• Pediatric echocardiography experience required
• License required if applicable
