Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Surgical Specialty Float Pool position requiring recent travel and stepdown experience with a compact or OK RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool serving surgical specialty and stepdown units
• Day shifts with 12-hour shifts, working 3 days per week
• Float across multiple units as needed
• Care for patients with a range of surgical and stepdown needs
• Responsible for managing an assigned group of surgical specialty and stepdown patients
• Perform assessments, administer medication, monitor infusions, and document interventions
• Collaborate with physicians and other staff, assist in minor diagnostic procedures, and communicate care plans to patients and families
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not eligible for consideration
• Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OK or compact multistate RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of stepdown nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Strong skills in professional nursing theory, practice, and patient care documentation
