Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health position requiring 1 year of experience and a VA PT license.

Responsibilities

• Home health setting serving a diverse patient population
• Typical caseload includes 6 to 7 weighted visits per day
• Day shift schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Every 4th or 5th weekend coverage may be needed for orthopedic cases only
• Experience with MatrixCare or Epic is preferred but not required
• Responsibilities include planning and administering prescribed physical therapy treatments and providing patient and caregiver education
• Role involves participation in required discharge planning and completion of all documentation per policy
• Must be able to direct patient participation in tasks to restore and enhance performance
• Three hours of pre-start modules are required and completed before starting the assignment
• Fit testing must be passed as facility cannot accommodate PAPR devices; any history of fit test issues will exclude candidates
• Open to first-time travelers
• Radius rule does not apply to allied positions for local candidates
• Requests for time off are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

• Active VA PT State License or compact license required if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of recent physical therapy experience required
• Home health experience preferred
• Current CPR certification required
• No prior license or background hits accepted
• Must provide two professional references
• Must submit a copy of driver's license and Social Security card
