Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring strong acute care and ventilation management skills along with a WI or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Level IV NICU in a hospital setting caring for critically ill newborns and infants
• Night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, 4x12 hours per week, with 2-3 weekends required every 6-week schedule period
• 26-bed unit providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for infants with complex medical and surgical needs
• Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various invasive/noninvasive ventilation modes required
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Travelers are the first to float to other units or departments as needed throughout the organization
• Provide care for critically ill newborns and infants, including those requiring advanced respiratory and surgical support
• RNs must be comfortable managing complex ventilation and post-surgical care including tracheostomies and g-tube management
• A week-long orientation is provided; scheduling details shared in welcome letter
• Strict telemetry pre-employment testing with passing criteria, with up to two attempts allowed before the assignment may be canceled
• Travelers may be assigned to multiple units or locations during their contract to meet operational needs
• Required to cover weekends and some holidays per unit expectations
• First-time travelers may be accepted for this unit

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years, with at least one year in a Level IV or qualifying Level III NICU
• Current certifications in BLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only), and NRP required
• Basic arrhythmia experience and ability to pass a required telemetry exam prior to start
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates' permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
