Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position, requiring previous travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 36-bed Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric cardiac patients
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Care for patients recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, stent placements, and pacemaker implants, as well as stable non-procedural cardiac cases
- Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions
- No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment
- No more than three days of requested time off will be approved; no time off allowed during orientation week
- Night shift premium environment
- Scrub color requirements were not specified
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience
- Previous travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Cannot have lived or reside in specified local counties or within a 50-mile radius
- Former perm staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
