Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position, requiring previous travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 36-bed Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric cardiac patients
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, stent placements, and pacemaker implants, as well as stable non-procedural cardiac cases
• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred
• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment
• No more than three days of requested time off will be approved; no time off allowed during orientation week
• Night shift premium environment
• Scrub color requirements were not specified

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience
• Previous travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Cannot have lived or reside in specified local counties or within a 50-mile radius
• Former perm staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
