Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care (PCU) position in New York, requiring a current NY RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within a tertiary care hospital
• Adult acute care patient population needing critical care step-down services
• Patients require continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Handles cases needing specialized airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV medication infusions
• Typical patient ratio ranges from 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg
• 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Must work every other weekend
• Epic charting system experience required
• Staff wear any combination of navy and white scrubs
• Provide care for critical care step-down patients transitioning from ICU, ED, PACU, and medical-surgical floors
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Call-off policy allows up to three shifts per 13-week assignment
• Professional references from a supervisor within the past two years are required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand
• Minimum one year of recent RN experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Able to perform interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to rapid response/code scenarios
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Competency in non-invasive respiratory care and oxygen therapy
• Must adhere to isolation precautions as needed
• Applicants must be located at least 75 miles from the facility
