Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 1 trauma acute care setting, requiring ND or compact RN license and recent large hospital OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital with 25 OR suites
• Handle a high volume of 75 to 100 surgical cases per day
• Patient ratio is 1:1 for OR cases
• Responsible for circulating duties in the OR including neuro, ortho, ENT, and general cases
• Perform procedures using robotics including DaVinci, lasers, laparoscopic, arthroscopy, and Stealth navigation for neuro cases
• Uses Epic EMR for documentation, and equipment such as Accudose and cautery
• Scheduled for 8-hour evening shifts from 1p to 9p, with overtime as needed for case completion
• Required to take call one day per week and one weekend every three to four weeks
• May float to Broadway or South University campuses as needed (rarely required)
• Main duties include circulating, sterile prepping, catheter insertion, documentation, and setting up OR equipment
• Scrub attire is provided and must be Ceil Blue
• All clinicians are required to badge in and out at the facility each shift
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Orientation consists of 8 hours
• Disclosure of previous employment with Sanford Health is required as part of the application

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent circulating OR RN experience in a hospital with at least 250 beds and Level 1 trauma status
• Experience in facilities with 15 or more OR suites is required; outpatient center-only experience is not acceptable
• Experience with robotics (DaVinci preferred) and navigation, as well as neuro/ortho procedures
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
• Strong ENT and general surgery skills are required
• Candidates must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility; adjusted rate applies for those within 60-80 miles
• Travelers with prior Sanford Health employment must have a separation of at least 6 months before consideration
