Description

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARRT certification to work in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a large acute care hospital with over 300 beds and a Level 1 trauma center
  • Work primarily in radiology, including ER, PICU, NICU, endoscopy, general X-ray, and portable X-rays
  • Procedures include inpatient/outpatient fluoroscopy (swallow studies, cystograms, VCUGs, urethrograms, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, myelograms) and OR imaging for neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, and pediatrics
  • Equipment includes GE 656 General Rooms, GE OEC C-arms, Siemens Luminos Agile and Artis Zee Fluoro Rooms, Siemens Mira Portables, Medtronic O-arm, Hologic Fluoroscan Mini C-arm, and Midmark Panorex
  • Uses Epic EMR, with proficiency required
  • Shifts are primarily day (8 or 10 hours based on preference), with some evening shifts as needed, limited call, and weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
  • Duties include accurate patient positioning, operating imaging equipment based on provider requests, and ensuring radiation safety
  • Care for patients before, during, and after imaging, and educate them as needed
  • Required to review all equipment with a preceptor and demonstrate competency before independent use
  • Orientation includes competency sign-off on C-arm and O-arm equipment prior to OR cases
  • Radiation badge is supplied by the agency or traveler
  • Gray scrubs are required
  • All clinicians must badge in and out of the facility
  • Previous employees of Sanford Health must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
  • Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with a reduced rate

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a radiology technologist
  • Current ARRT (R) and AHA-approved BLS certification required
  • NDMIRT (North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board) license required or willingness to apply within 48 hours of offer
  • Experience with portable X-rays, ER imaging, and C-arm operation in the OR required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital setting
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, radiographic positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection
  • License required if applicable
