Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a Michigan RN license and expertise in post-op open heart care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU in an acute hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-op open heart and critical care cases
• Care for patients using advanced cardiac devices such as Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
• Night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Required to work every other weekend and at least one holiday
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Responsible for delivering and coordinating high-quality compassionate patient care using the nursing process
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Completion of online modules with passing score required prior to start
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• May request up to one week of scheduled time off
• Orientation includes completion of required testing and documentation
• Set expectation of background check and drug screen within designated timeframe

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU experience
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with Impella and IABP devices required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
