Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac/Pulmonary Med/Surg position requiring cardiac/telemetry, Level 1 Trauma, and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Cardiac/Pulmonary Medical-Surgical unit
• Care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Patient care responsibilities include medication administration, pain management, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and lab monitoring
• Uses Epic EMR system; experience required
• Day shifts from 7:00AM to 7:30PM with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Responsible for comprehensive patient care from admission assessment to discharge education
• Must collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and modify patient care plans
• Expected to participate in team huddles and contribute to professional feedback
• Will delegate and supervise basic care such as turning and toileting according to unit standards
• Must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule; no local candidates accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract
• Contingent assignments at this location cannot exceed one year without a six-month break before returning

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses accepted
• Minimum one year of recent relevant nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Experience in cardiac/telemetry and Level 1 Trauma environments required
• Demonstrated Epic charting experience
