Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring IL RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a hospital-based Emergency Department
  • Unit serves a high acuity, Level 1 Trauma patient population
  • Work schedule is 12-hour day shifts, 7:00AM-7:30PM, with a required two-week night rotation for all travelers
  • Travelers must complete two 13-hour on-call shifts per 6-week schedule period, with onsite arrival within one hour when on call
  • Use of Epic EMR is required
  • Perform comprehensive assessment, care planning, and implementation for diverse ED patients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation within Epic
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, providers, and families for optimal patient care
  • Provide feedback for team development and maintain a safe work environment
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13 week contract
  • Travelers must not have been employed at this facility for more than one year continuously and must take a six month break before returning
  • Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
  • Minimum one year of Emergency Department RN experience, with Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
