Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Massachusetts, requiring strong acute care and telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a 37-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital
- Patient population includes Med/Surg, Orthopedics, ENT, Gyn-surgical, oral surgical, and telemetry cases
- Typical patient ratio is 1:4 on days and 1:4-5 on nights
- Fast-paced, Level I Trauma environment
- Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
- 12-hour FLEX D/N rotation shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
- Responsibilities include caring for diverse surgical and telemetry patients in a high-acuity unit
- Initial testing on telemetry/dysrhythmia competency required
- Team support in a multidisciplinary environment
- Must be flexible for both day and night shifts as scheduled
- Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Level I Trauma hospital experience required
- Must pass an advanced dysrhythmia/telemetry test on day one
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager and a recent performance evaluation
