Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with rotating day/night shifts and requiring an active OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work is performed in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Care for adult medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Shifts are 12 hours, with day and night rotation based on operational needs (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am)
• Travelers may be required to rotate between days and nights
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, administering medications, and providing care to adult patients
• Orientation includes ECG and SafeMedicate assessments
• Annual modular training required and tracked through facility systems
• Must complete onsite badging and fingerprinting prior to start
• Permanent and per diem candidates must wait 12 months before returning to this health system
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
• PAPRs are only accommodated with approved medical or religious exemption
• Nicotine use does not disqualify nurses at this time
• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active permanent Ohio or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a permanent or travel role is required
• AHA or Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be active at the time of consideration
• Passing ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments during orientation is required, with a maximum of two attempts
• No license hits or open background check cases accepted
• One supervisory reference in specialty must be provided
