Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring IL RN license, Level 1 Trauma, and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department at a hospital setting
  • Night shifts from 3:00PM to 3:00AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Two 13-hour call shifts required per six-week schedule period with onsite response within one hour
  • A mandatory two-week nights rotation is required for all travelers
  • Level 1 Trauma experience is necessary
  • Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience required
  • No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
  • Responsible for performing all ED nursing duties and procedures, including patient assessment, care planning, and interventions
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient documentation and records
  • Expected to collaborate closely with providers, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • RTO (requested time off) may not exceed seven days during the 13-week contract
  • Former employees may not return to assignment without a six-month break after 1 year of continuous work
  • No travel partners accepted for this assignment
  • Compliance with all onboarding and credentialing deadlines is required

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing (temp licenses accepted)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of one year of relevant Emergency Department or trauma experience
  • Epic charting experience required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Must be able to arrive onsite within one hour for call shifts
