Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a GA or compact RN license and Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting with floating to all Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units
• Cares for adult to geriatric patients with diverse medical and telemetry diagnoses
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• EMR system used is Epic; Pyxis and SBAR also utilized
• Requires working every other weekend, averaging six weekends over a 13-week contract
• Floating may include coverage at a sister campus located three miles away
• No on-call requirements
• Must float as needed among Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units throughout the hospital
• Orientation and compliance must be completed on time to avoid assignment delay
• Must be able to work required major holidays as assigned according to facility policy
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Maximum of seven days of requested time off (RTO), with no RTO allowed during the first week of the contract
• Former permanent or PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
• Return travelers who are unable to return to one facility must complete a successful assignment outside of Piedmont before rebooking

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license
• Minimum of one year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Must provide two supervisory references (manager level or above) for consideration
