Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with neuro experience and a current CA RN license for night shifts in an acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital
• Neuro patient population with a patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend, totaling 4 weekend shifts in each 4-week schedule
• Floating to similar units required as needed
• Use of Meditech EMR and specialized neuro equipment is a plus
• No on-call requirement
• Scrub color is flexible; any color allowed
• Primary responsibilities include providing critical care to neuro ICU patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed
• Free parking available on-site
• Minimal or no RTO allowed; all requests must be submitted at the time of application
• Block scheduling may be considered at the manager's discretion
• Vaccinations including COVID and Flu may be required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required before consideration
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU RN experience with neuro patients required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before applying as a traveler and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
• References from at least 2 supervisory sources covering 1 year of comparable specialty/setting within the past three years
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
