Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring ACLS, BCLS, and telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes primarily medical cases such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, COVID-19, chest pain, and select surgical cases including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, colectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:6
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 6:00 to 18:30
• Every other weekend shift required
• Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital is required
• Uses Cerner EMR system; experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must agree to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Return applicants must have a 12-month gap from any previous permanent or PRN employment with the facility
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Charge pay is available for eligible roles

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at the time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications from AHA or RQI accepted
• 18 months to 2 years of recent relevant RN experience required
• Telemetry and IV start skills required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
