Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a compact or MO license for a night shift Med/Surg Tele position at a community hospital requiring cardiac monitoring and willingness to float.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a 240-bed community hospital
• Patient ratios are 1:5
• Frequent floating between departments, units, and facilities within scope is required
• Work night shifts, 3x12 hours (18:45 – 07:15)
• Must work eight weekend shifts in each six-week schedule, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required
• Not open to block scheduling
• Use of Epic EMR for documentation
• Telemetry equipment is utilized
• Primary responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, emergency response, central line/PICC management, cardiac drips (no titration), and care for post-angiogram, dialysis, and neuro patients
• Expected to manage isolation precautions, trach care, wound care, and non-invasive airway management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy scrubs are required
• Free parking is available
• Pre-employment drug screening required; positive or diluted results may disqualify for 6 months
• Modules totaling approximately 5-8 hours must be completed prior to start and annually
• No travel partners accepted on this assignment
• No more than 7 days of RTO (requested time off) permitted

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration; Kansas license may be required due to float policy
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele or relevant specialty experience, including at least 12 months in specialty within the past year with no gaps over 90 days
• Community hospital experience is required; previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response
• Skills in care of cardiac, post-cardiac cath, GI/renal, neuro, respiratory, and wound patients required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; locals and those within 50 miles are not accepted
• Two professional references from the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor
• Must provide SSN and documentation of maximum 7 days requested time off for consideration
• Pending licenses are not accepted
