Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a multidisciplinary intensive care unit night shift position requiring a DC RN license and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a multidisciplinary ICU in a hospital setting
- Provides care for neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
- Night shift position with a schedule of 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Uses advanced technology including ventilators, cardiac monitors, ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT, and Cerner EMR
- Experience with Cerner charting system required
- Manages critical care interventions for a variety of complex patient populations
- Utilizes a wide range of specialized equipment and monitors in daily responsibilities
- Collaboration and teamwork expected within a multidisciplinary environment
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as part of the schedule
- Current COVID and flu vaccinations may be required per facility policy
- Two professional references from recent supervisors preferred for consideration
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required at the time of consideration
- Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
- Minimum of 3 years recent ICU nursing experience required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly preferred
- At least 2 years of recent ICU experience in a U.S. hospital required
- Required experience with advanced critical care technology and procedures
- Must reside at least 25 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
- CPI certification mandated for the position
