Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a multidisciplinary intensive care unit night shift position requiring a DC RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multidisciplinary ICU in a hospital setting
• Provides care for neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
• Night shift position with a schedule of 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Uses advanced technology including ventilators, cardiac monitors, ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT, and Cerner EMR
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Manages critical care interventions for a variety of complex patient populations
• Utilizes a wide range of specialized equipment and monitors in daily responsibilities
• Collaboration and teamwork expected within a multidisciplinary environment
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as part of the schedule
• Current COVID and flu vaccinations may be required per facility policy
• Two professional references from recent supervisors preferred for consideration

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• Minimum of 3 years recent ICU nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly preferred
• At least 2 years of recent ICU experience in a U.S. hospital required
• Required experience with advanced critical care technology and procedures
• Must reside at least 25 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
• CPI certification mandated for the position
