Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY license, BLS, and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out
• Day shifts are from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, four 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient ratios are 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
• Requires every other weekend coverage
• Uses Epic for electronic charting
• Daily duties include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and participating in rapid response and code teams
• Responsibilities involve care and management of peripheral lines, administering oxygen therapy, and using non-invasive airway management techniques
• Applicants must be prepared for increased ratios on weekends
• Must follow all isolation precautions as required by the unit

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must have skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care, nasal cannula and oxygen equipment, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Not accepting first-time travelers
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
