Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital setting
• 16-bed unit treating a range of critically ill adult patients including sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella cases
• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2, with 1:1 ratios based on patient acuity
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Local candidates must reside more than 75 miles away
• Floating is not specified
• Responsibilities include providing care for critically ill patients with complex multisystem needs and using advanced ICU technology such as CRRT, IABP, ECMO, and Impella
• First time travelers are accepted for consideration
• Scrub color or dress code is not specified
• Candidates must not have taken another assignment within a 75-mile radius

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Minimum 1 year of MICU or critical care nursing experience required
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
