Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Michigan requiring MI licensure and advanced perinatal certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
• Care for antepartum, labor, delivery, postoperative, and newborn patients including couplet care
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 7:30
• Schedule requires working every other weekend
• Call requirement is none
• Floating required as a sitter within the facility and to nearby labor and delivery units as needed
• Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• EPIC is used for documentation
• RNs will act as circulating and scrub nurse in the OR, perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens, and provide newborn care at delivery
• No time off is permitted within the first 8 days of the contract
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Training provided for newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
• Must float to affiliated facilities within approximately 27 miles as needed

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent OB, Mother/Baby, and Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM
• AWHONN Advanced and scrub experience preferred
• Experience with circulating, fetal heart monitoring triage, and perinatal care
• Must be willing to float as required
